What Causes Swollen Wrist In A Child?

10 year old Grandson tripped and fell on carpeted floor. Swelling of wrist but he can move it up and down. He said he s sprained it before ----How do I know if it s broken? Do I put cold pack on it and wait until tomorrow morning to see if it s better?

After going through your query I concluded that you are having swelling wrist.It may be sprain of wrist but as it is swollen and child get easyly fracture because these are soft. Because of this these easily got bend called green stick fracture. However icing Okay. Keep hand elevated. By doing x ray you can know whether it is fractured. He can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. However he can wait till morning with not much harm. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered.
