What Causes Swollen Painful Foot?

I have one foot that suddenly becomes swollen and painful to stand on about once every 6 months.... standing on it hurts however when i lift the weight off of it it increases the pain momentarily.... it lasts about 5 days then goes away... i do not have a credit card and did not know i had to pay to get answer.. thx for your time... i do need help

GREETINGS!! ANSWER: Your history suggests that you might be suffering from gout, which as on and off swelling of ankle especially the big toe! And comes on straining the foot! I would suggest uou to get your uric acid levels checked! Anti-inflammatory and analgesic may help reduce the swelling and pain!
