What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Throat?

Hello. I just started smoking cannabis. I got it last night. I smoked some last night and again this morning. I noticed my lymph nodes, especially the right one, in my throats are swollen. The one on the right has a vein showing and there are white things on the lymph node. No fever. No cough. I don t feel sick. My throats doesn t hurt. Breathing is not difficult but the swollen lymph node is annoying as I can feel it when I swallow. Did the cannabis do this? Is it an infection? Am I allergic? I have smoked before rarely and never had this reaction.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The swollen lymph nodes are related to an upper respiratory tract infection.

They are not related to the consumption of cannabis. I recommend using anti-inflammatory. medication such as Ibuprofen to reduce edema and inflammation. The swallowing will go away on its own.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
