What Causes Swollen Glands Along With Sore Throat?

Hello, I am currently experiencing a cold sore on my lip, and I believe it has spread to the side of my nose, my chin and now my eyelid. I also am experiencing symptoms of strep throat. Swollen glands, sore throat, and white polka dots in the back of my throat. Is it possible that it s not and has something to do with the cold sores? I have never had cold sores before, but had strep a lot. I am an elementary school teacher.

Dear patient,

yes there is sores that can occur with strep throat or virus infection. Strep throat often gets better quicker with antibiotics. Once the infection is cured the sores mostly get better. Until then you can apply pathenol ointment or similar.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
