General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have something called stasis dermatitis. Its a kind of reaction of skin due to stasis (accumulation of fluid) in feet and ankle. The cause of swollen ankle could be due to insufficiency of drainage of blood in veins, any heart condition or kidney diseases. I would advise you to get these conditions ruled out first.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
