What Causes Swollen Eye With Bleeding From Nose And Ear After Injury?

hi, my dad was hit by a motorcycle and he fell o his head, he has a swollen eye, a cut and bleed on the other eye, and blood is bleeding from his ear and nose...we ve been informed that he has a dead skull by the emergency doctors who are dealing with him and have advised for an CT scan to be done first thing in the morning because we are in a remote area and can only access this services at about 9am tomorrow...is this diagnosis very serious and what are his chances

Sorry to hear about your dad.

The problems of swollen eye , cut skin and bleeding from ear and nose may or may not be serious . To identify if there is a serious issue going on than CT scan is a must to be sure that there is no bleeding within the brain. If there is none then there is nothing to worry about .But if there is then neurosurgeons have to be brought in for the management.

To be sure of his chances will depend on may factors like:
1)His conscious level at this moment
2)His Blood pressure, pulse, Respiratory rate and extent of blood loss
3)And the most important will depend on CT scan which will tell if there is massive bleeding with in the brain or not.

I hope he recovers completely.
