how long will it take to get rid of the pain after having part of my prostate tissue removed due to the fact part of my prostate was enlarged pushing on my bladder.doc said he fixed me but i still have pain as if that catheter is still inside of me please help how long after surgery before i call notice improvement?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Removal of prostate tissue will lead to inflammation of the surrounding tissues including bladder. Presence of catheter in situ is also responsible for pain and swelling in the surrounding tissue. Thus, once the catheter is removed, you can expect relief of pain, discomfort and pain. Catheter will be kept in situ till the surgical site heals. You can take pain killer for the pain that you are experiencing under supervision of your surgeon.
