What Causes Swollen And Painful White Patches In The Mouth?

The right side of my gum where my wisdom tooth is, is swollen, and it burns, it also has some white patches, And a cut like thing on the side as well, and it s producing some type of mucus substance that taste awful, I tried salt and water remedy, and it starts to burn, what do I have

Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms of having swollen gum over the wisdom tooth along with white patch and bad tasting mucous that appears to be pus is pointing towards Pericoronitis..
It occurs due to infection between the gum flap and the wisdom tooth..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and x ray should be done..

A script of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and serratiopeptidases can help..
Also do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
Once the infection is reduced then if the tooth is impacted then extraction of tooth is the ultimate solution..
