Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a swelling under my right eye and it feels uncomfortable, especially near the tear duct and it feels like a pulling sensation. The swelling seems to be growing daily. It started about a year ago when, after a very busy week, I woke up to find a fluid sack under many eye. It disappeared after a few days. Since then it has been there, but lately it s grown alot and it seems worse if I use a computer or texting etc... It feels more uncomfortable and looks redder. I haven t been able to find anything online that sounds like this.
Suggestive of chronic dacrocystitis. Dacryocystitis is an infection of the tear sac (lacrimal sac) in the inner corner of your eye. Tears drain through the nasolacrimal sac into the tear duct (lacrimal duct) and into the back of your nose.
Infections are usually caused by a blockage in the lacrimal duct that allows bacteria to build up inside the tear sac. I advise you to consult an ophthalmologist for further clinical examination and its treatment.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
