What Causes Swelling Under The Ear?

I fell over and cut the my head on the left side near my temple in February. I never went to hospital, aprox a month later I had swelling under my ear along the jaw line, I had no pain and it went the next day. Tonight the same has happend 3 months later and again have experienced no pain or discomfort but the swelling is clearly noticeable. I have been assured it is not a dental issue. Do you have any advice? And would you recommend to seek medical advice? I would be very grateful for your opinion, many thanks

Critical Care Specialist 's  Response
Yes, you should Seek medical advice. Swelling may be submandibular gland enlargement . sonography would be of help. Though not painful, diagnosis is must.
