What Causes Swelling In The Lips And Throat?

What food would cause lips to swell, throat to close up? My husband has this problem plus coughing up lots of phlegm. His doctor said it was allergies. He was given a prescription for prednisone, 10 mg. 4 tabs/day once a day for 5 days. Also, advised to take Claritin once/day. Thank you for your help.

90% of all food allergies are caused by:
Eggs
Milk
Peanuts
Tree nuts
Fish
Shellfish
Wheat
Soy
But you have to do a prick test, to see what is the specific causing agent. This will help you immensely, because you will be able to adapt your diet to your husband's needs.
