What Causes Swelling In The Knees After Receiving A Synvisc Injection?

I had a synvisc injection a month ago. It was awesome. Monday I got another one. Three days later my knee is swollen and stiff. Pretty painful. It s been swollen now for 4 days. Ice, ice and more icing and antinflamatories. It hasn t improved at all. Funny part is. The injection site is fine. It s above where I got the injection and higher. It s not hot and it springs back when I press on the swollen areas. Is it time to see my Dr? Or am I a a baby and this is common?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Some pain and fluid build up is seen as side effects in some patients. These are usually short lived. But if it last longer and is debilitating then consult your treating orthopedician. In such case aspiration might be required.
Thanks.
