What Causes Swelling In The Knee?

On my left leg only, I have swelling below the knee, in upper front side, above front of calf area. It comes and go. Could it be related to my bad knee, which needs replaced someday, or is it a damaged or torn muscle? I ve iced it, but that doesn t seem to help the bump go down.

Hello,

You have forgotten to mention your age and previous knee joints status! Also about pain at knee joints?

Anyway swelling at knee joints with painful movements might be due to osteoarthritis knee joints/injuries to knee joint ligaments!

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajaygupta009, General & Family Physician
