What Causes Swelling In The Cheeks And Pain In The Jaw?

Hi there - on Sunday my cheek swelled up and I couldn t eat due to shocking pain in my jaw. From everything I ve looked up online it sounds like it s a swollen lymph node right in front of my/jaw. I ve got a bunch of other symptoms that I ve experienced for a long time that now have me worried due to the lymph node. I ve never had a swollen lymph node in my life that I know of and I m not allergic to anything that I know of.....

Hello,

You have symptoms of swelling in the cheeks and pain in the jaw which is because of the presence of infection, a carious lesion in the oral cavity, salivary glands infection or stone in them, and due to the formation of pus and infection finding no way to escape and leads to the formation of an abscess.

I would suggest you visit the dentist once and get it examined. Get x-ray of that quadrant done to check the extent of infection. Start treatment accordingly. Do warm saline gargles. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Take proper courses of antibiotics like a combination of Diclofenac and Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
