What Causes Swelling In Both Legs After Bypass Surgery?

I had a 3 way bypass in 2006. Veins taking from right leg. Both legs have been swollen since bypass, right leg swollen the most. Can both legs swell from bypass. Some VA doctors say yes and some say no. Wondering if I have good reason to appeal their decision that swelling in other leg not caused by bypass

hi
swelling can be as a result of taken away venous graft
as it hampers the venous drainage of the lower limbs
keep the limbs elevated at least for 30 degrees while you are resting,
use of crepe bandage or stockings can improve the blood circulation & prevent venous pooling
the other reason can be due to deep vein thrombosis
you can go for lower limb venous & arterial doppler to know the blood flow & intensity,
then the treatment can vary with this.
all the best
take care
