Hi doctor, I am Tshering from Bhutan. my husband had a knee injury (patullar tendron rupture with medial and lateral retinacular tear). He got an immediate surgery by ortho doctor the next day of injury(22nd November.... But I am not satisfied about how well the treatment went. He walks on the crutches and doctor advices him to keep his knee unbending. The wound is also dry and no infections as of now. The swelling around the thigh and the knee is also disappearing but still am worried about how normal it can be.... How will I know that he is getting normal. I want to get your advice for further need of treatments. Thank you.
Sorry to hear what your husband had a knee injury. Recovery after a knee surgery is a progressive process. Pains and swelling will disappear progressively. I will advise you follow the advice given by his doctor and if you feel there is something that is not going on well with the leg, you take him back to his doctor.
As of now, I feel the progress is satisfactory and you do not need to be scared. Just let the natural healing process to take its course.
Hope this will help. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wish your husband a speedy recovery!
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
