What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Labia Majora?

My friend has just had a partial hysterectomy (ovaries left intact). She is at home, and has noticed that her labia are extremely swollen (approx 8x normal). She has no pain with it (although she is on post-op pain killers so this may disguise it?) and is urinating normally, with no sign of fever. The operation (to her knowledge) was done through her pre-existing cesaerian scar and did not involve the vagina. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the swelling?

They must have done maneuver through it like a PV exam. You should check with the operating surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
