What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Knees?

I injured my knee badly playing rugby about four months ago. After three months i was playing sports again but i could still feel it. About a week ago i was playing rounders and my knee gave way. At this moment in time it is swollen on the inside of my knee and a bit on the outside and on top. It hurts to jump and squat and it occasionally hurts to walk. What should i do?

I think you should do a knee MRI as it looks like you have torn your Anterior cruciate ligament and may need surgery to repair it.Until you do the MRI keep ice packs on the knee every 15 minutes and elastic bandage or soft knee brace and elevation of the leg for the first 2 days.
