I am a 36 yr old male. My girlfriend was diagnosed with strep throat and i was around her before she received antibiotics. A few days later I had similar symptoms. I was recently treated for strep throat at an urgent care facility although immediate throat swab came out negative. I was given zpack (3 days of 500mg). I have rash and blisters on hands severely and sporadic on other areas of my body. I just finished taking my 3rd day of medicine. I have also been taking Benedryl for itch, Tylenol for fever, and Advil for aches. However I have still had spikes in fever yesterday and today. I had insomnia and spikes of irritability last night as well. I had sex with my girlfriend (who was also on the zpack) to help my insomnia and release stress. Now today I am experiencing swollen, painful balls. I do not have any blisters or evidence of rash in my private area. I am able to urinate but it has been cloudy and light yellow. My fever ran for 2 days straight, then broke Friday, and appeared again Saturday night and again Sunday. What are some possible reasons for experiencing painful swollen balls and it is a medical emergency? What can I do for relief?
