Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My gums feels swollen along the roots of two of my molars on the bottom left side of my cheek. I have significant pain and have already had one of the nearby teeth treated with a root canal. Is this a sign that more teeth are infected? What else could this be?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if the swelling is around the third molar than it can be a inflamed gum flap known as PERICORONITIS which occurs due to infection secondary to food accumulation between the gum flap and tooth.. In case if it is over molars other than third molar than it can be due to infection in teeth that has extended below the root tips of tooth leading to dental abscess formation or can be due to gum infection secondary to poor Oral hygiene.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and thorough clinical evaluation and x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now do warm saline gargles, take Ibuprofen for pain and do antimicrobial mouthwash gargles..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
