Hi,

Swelling and pain in the foot after surgery can be common, especially in the initial stages of recovery. However, if the swelling and pain have returned after 6 weeks of successful healing, it could be a sign of inflammation or infection.

It is advisable to visit your surgeon or a healthcare provider for an evaluation of the foot. Your doctor may recommend an X-ray to check if the screws are in place or if any new bone growths could be causing the pain and swelling.

In the meantime, you can continue icing the foot, elevating it whenever possible, and taking Ibuprofen as directed by your doctor. If the pain and swelling worsen or if you notice any signs of infection, such as redness, warmth, or pus around the surgical site, seek medical attention immediately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
