What Causes Swelling And Pain In Calf And Back Of Knee?

I have been referee basketball. Recently every time I was active whether to play or ref both calfs pulled easily. I then on my left leg started having pain associated with the back side of my knee. In my calf there is some but minimal swelling but relatively serious pain. I tried to continue to work refing even after I initially had pulled these muscles and dire guarded the knee discomfort. To add to my issues I have fibro. Bad fibro to the point I was given full disability. I was in a fire and already my safari in levels were messed up. During the scraping ect I became addicted to hydros. I detoxes off at home and made it through. Stupid me went from that to using adder ok to get out of bed and coach my sons teams. I had been one of the most successful HS coaches in Arkansas prior to the fire incident. The Dr quit prescribing the adder ill and I began to take small doses of meth that my friend had to b able to continue with life as opposed to staying in bed. Meth has become a problem. Surprise surprise. I have always been obsessive compulsive and addiction comes easily for me. What about my leg. What about the meth and withdrawal. I don t want to do it. It is terrible for me I know. I have only used for about 3-4 months but regularly so people will see me as consistent. Yes I have lost weight and ect but I can fix that if meth is discontinued

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling and pain in calf and back of knee . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like xerotic eczema , senile pruritis , atopic dermatitis , contact dermatitis , varicose vein , baker's cyst or infestations . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes , keep it clean and dry , apply petroleum jelly on it and take antihistamine like benadryl . Do not massage or scratch . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test or allergy test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clarithrimycinor corticosteroid ointment . Doctor may also refer you to general surgeon or orthopedic surgeon for surgical excision .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
