What Causes Swelling And Pain Around A Wound On The Leg?

Hi, I cut my leg shaving one week ago. It’s cut right above the ankle and it’s a pretty long and deep cut. About four days ago my ankle started swelling and the skin was pink eventually turning to a light red color. The ankle bone also hurts to touch it. It is back to a light pink color today but it’s still swollen. I was wondering if I should go up to urgent care?

You have to consult a doctor to check the wound infection. Skin is the main mechanical barrier to prevent infection and once it breaks, the chances of infection increases and it causes pain and swelling. So, whenever there is cut in the skin, you have to start with antibiotics. Maintain the cleanliness around the wound and don't wet it.
