Hello,
If you have a history of having
sarcoidosis it may lead to swelling in the lower extremities due to fluid retention. The bumps around the ankle may be
erythema nodosum. Sarcoidosis triggers joint pain,
stiffness and swelling in the feet, ankles, and hands. A person may experience painful
arthritis in their ankles resulting from Erythema Nodosum. You are suggested to limit salt intake, stay away from carbs, trans fat, full fat dairy products, frozen or packaged food and avoid addictions if any.
Do regular walking and exercises, it helps better blood and lymph circulation. Stay active. Get clinically assessed by a GP, get required blood tests,
urinalysis and imaging tests done to detect RA, OA, Gout, etc. You can take NSAIDS, Naproxen, one SOS for relief from pain and inflammation. Do not stand at the same place for a long time and keep your feet elevated on a stool when sitting & on a pillow when on bed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
