What Causes Sweet Taste In The Mouth?

I have been experiencing a sweet taste in my mucous for almost a month and for the past two days, at times the mucous is coming out with a little blood tinge. What could be the reason behind this? I am otherwise healthy and do not feel any sort of health complications.

Hello,

Sweet taste in mucus and blood tinge can be related to a number of causes like oral infections, tooth and gum infections, post nasal drip, upper respiratory tract infection, acid reflux, etc. I would suggest you to consult an ENT physician and get a proper examination done. Do not worry as it is not necessarily related to any serious complication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
