What Causes Swallowing Difficulty, Throat Tightness And Painful Lump On Lower Back?

I m a disabled Veteran. I m currently living with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I also have periods where my throat tightens up to the point where I can t drink anything and have difficulty breathing. I also have a lump on the left side of my lower back where I ll have annoying pain which shoots from my neck, and left shoulder blade down my back. Also I have shaky hands that cramp up, and don t have the same grip as they used to. Could all of these symptoms be connected?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the all of the narrated symptoms do not seem to be correlated at a glance. The swallowing difficulty, throat tightness and difficulty in breathing are in concern with possible excess tonsillar tissue or else from obesity and underlying OSA condition. The lump over lower back can be a neurofibroma or others. The shaking of hands can be part of aging process, Parkinsonism, vitamin B12 deficiency or others.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
