Hi,
I have seen one case similar to your complaints in my practice. Here are a few things that can cause suffocation after eating:
1. Heartburn due to Gastroesophageal disorder.
2. Being little
overweight it can be
Obesity Hypoventilation syndrome too but it's rare.
3. COPD.
4.
Anaphylaxis due to
food allergy.
Since you have enquired about the MSG poisoning here are a few things you should know about it. Here are four characteristic symptoms of MSG poisoning:
1)
chest pain,
2)
palpitation,
3) sweating,
4) and
mental confusion.
For you I will suggest you take the following steps:
1) Have part meals, i.e instead of three large meals have 6 smaller portions of meals.
2) Do not take fluid while having food.
3) Avoid Junk foods and carbonated drinks.
4) Avoid/Minimize alcohol and Tobacco if you use them.
5) Do not lay down immediately after food.
6) Involve yourself in sports or do some physical activity every day.
7) Have an Antigas/Antacid post food.
8) Eat fiber-rich foods and soft bland diet.
With this measure observe if you are relieved from this its well and good, if not get an appointment with a Doctor he will be able to examine you and come to a pinpoint diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Moses John Wesley,
General & Family Physician
