What Causes Sudden Weight Loss After Taking Naproxen?

I have been taking Lanzaprozole for years to counteract naproxen used for my scoliosis/stenosis in lower left lumbar region. I only weigh 50kilos at my reduced height from 5ft 8ins. To 5ft 4ins. But have a hugely distended stomach unless lying flat after being to the loo. Could this condition be exacerbated by lanzaprozole? I am 85 and swim 5 times a week though walking far is an effort as my balance is bad. Information gratefully received. Bridget ford.

Hi,

The lanzaprazole should not worsen bloating or distension, it should improve it. You may need to look at your diet to see if you are using foods that may cause this symptom eg: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, beans, carbonated drinks etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
