What Causes Sudden Swelling On The Lips?

Twice now i have swelling of my lips for no apparent reason. Starts with lower lip and progresses. First time, lower portion of my face became huge. This time seems to be just lower lip. No food allergies. Thought first time a bite, but no evidence.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. is it only swelling? any itching there? It goes away or is it persistent? Please provide details. If it goes away, it most likely due to edema in allergic conditions. Just take a non sedating antihistamine like levocetrizine for couple of days. Thanks
