What Causes Sudden Swelling In The Eyelids And Double Vision?

My eyelids suddenly swelled up this past weekend and now they are very droopy and I have double vision when I look to the right. My right eye feels a little tired My family doctor examined me this afternoon and didn t find anything but has referred me to an Opthamalogist but I can t get in until next week. I am 70 yrs old and in good health otherwise. Should I insist on being seen before next Tuesday?

it can be blepharitis or st ye. diplopia means there is involvment ocular muscle and movment in your case it may be lateral rectus mens 6th nerve palsy in adult there will be diplopia. since there will be improper alignment

it can be blepharitis st ye or drooping of upper eye lid due to thyroid hormone problem. it can be hypothyroidism or graves disease. it can be corrected by surgery if it covers pupil so vision is obstructed and there will be diplopia.
