What Causes Sudden Shortness Of Breath?

my mom was very short of breath for a couple days...her sugar went to 500 the ambulance came and gave her some breathing treatment in which she then became completely unresponsive. she got to the hospital and they were bagging her...she then vent tact and then bradycardia and then vfib. they said she was unconscious but could she know what was happeneing. her bnp was greater than 175,000 what does that mean?????please help me I have been struggling with this for 10 months

In diabetic patients when sugar level goes high in blood it causes liberation of ketone bodies this condition is known as diabetic ketoacidosis which causes sudden shortness of breath and increased respiratory rate with frooty odoured breath. Urine examination should be done for ketone bodies and monitoring sugar levels along with antidiabetic drugs and a full cardiac assesment. It will be helpful.
