What Causes Sudden Sharp Pain In Area Of Heart?
Randomly, I get a short sharp pain in the area of my heart (left side of chest, under my breast). They only last a few seconds, and then go away, but they are painful. They come about at totally random times. It happened four times today, but sometimes I get them several months apart,. I'm 16 years old, and weigh around 115 pounds. I've read up on Precordial Catch Syndrome, and I think that could be it. But usually PCS lasts atleast 30 seconds or more, whereas mine only last for a few seconds. What could it be?

Sudden sharp pains in the precordial region lasting for few seconds could be a variant of precordial catch syndrome.This is not a serious disorder .Associated overweight and anxiety has to be corrected.Drugs like anxiolytics ex alprazolam can help.Regular physical exercise like Brisk walk or swimming for 20 min can improve the symptoms.get a screening 2D ECHO of your heart to rule out organic heart lesions.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
