General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Her symptoms look like Carpal tunnel syndrome. In the early stage, you experience cramp & numbness, later shaking & less grip strength.

It happens 'cause of nerve getting compressed(pinched) & slow nerve impulses lead to impaired ability to use the thumb.

You are suggested to visit ER or a GP & get clinically examined. Get X-ray, Nerve conduction tests & Electromyogram done.

You will be treated (wrist splinting, medicines, surgery) according to your symptoms & pathology detected.

You are suggested to give rest to your hands, avoid activities that cause discomfort, maintain low BMI, avoid sleeping on your hands, rotate your wrists & stretch your palms and fingers.

For relieving you can take a pain reliever like Advil or Aleve, one sos when required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
