What Causes Sudden Onset Of Nausea, Diarrhea And Stomach Pain Radiating To Back?

I had sudden onset of nausea, diarrhea and stomach pain today 5 hours ago. Now, the nausea is better, but not gone and the pain is less unless I push on my stomach. It also seems like the pain has traveled to my lower right back as well. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely you had a food poison, that is why you got a sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain.
You may need to take some oral rehydration solutions to substitute the water and electrolytes you loose with diarrhea and the vomiting and make sure you rest well.
If you notice no improvement in a couple of days or you notice any worsening, please see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
