What Causes Sudden Onset Of Dizziness, Spots In Vision And Nausea In Children?

My 10 yr old son had a sudden onset of dizziness, seeing colorful spots, eyes began going side to side rapidly, nausea, sweating, and said he felt like he had a black hole in his stomach. It lasted about 10 minutes. He does have an Anxiety disorder, a vestibular disorder, and adhd. I ve never seen him do this before and don t know if he needs to see his doctor or if this was an anxiety attack.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be:
1.seizure
2. Neurogenic shock
3. Panic attack
4. Phobia
5. Vestibulitis
6. Or others
These need to be checked to come to a differential diagnosis. Yes, you must go to a neuro-psychologist and pediatrician [follow simple workshops of kids also like ArtExcel, counseling sessions and know your child], these can help both of you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
