What Causes Sudden Numbness And Tingling On Right Side Of The Body?

I had a sudden numbness and tingling on the right side of my body yesterday morning. Went to the hospital and had a ct scan, MRI, carotid artery ultra sound, and a echo cardiogram. The tests showed no sign of a stroke. I asked about a TIA and they said they ruled it out because I continued to have the numbness and tingling. Still have it tonight. Also, I had a brief episode with my hands tingling a week ago. What do you think?

Hi,

For this case of numbness and tingling, I would come up with the possibility of cervical spondylosis. Diagnosis is possible with a physical examination followed by an MRI of cervical region to confirm it. It is advisable to use collar belt as it gives enough rest to the neck.

To the patients who come to my clinic with the similar problem I advise the following Ayurvedic Medication for 1 month which are found to be very effective in the condition.
1. Tapyadi Loha - 1 tablet with the Kashayam (Point 2) three times a day before food
2. Rasnerandadi Kashayam - 3 teaspoons with three teaspoon of water three times a day before food.
3. Simhanada Guggulu - 1 tablet with warm water three times a day after food.
4. Sahacharadi Tailam - Apply and give a massage with medium pressure in a regular pattern (Starting from neck and moving towards the hand) for 30 minutes. Allow it as it is for 30 minutes.

Then give a hot fomentation to the neck and hands till there is slight sweating. My suggestion on diet for 1 month is:
1. Avoid High protein diet, spicy, oily and fried substances
2. Take vegetables that belong to Curcurbitaceae like Ash gourd, Bitter gourd, Snake gourd, etc
3. Intake of meat soups and fruit juices are also recommended

Since there is a need for a physical examination and prescription medicine, I would suggest you to meet the local Ayurvedic physician to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
