What Causes Sudden Disorientation And Confusion?

I had a local an anesthetic yesterday so my doctor could do a biopsy on a mole on my calf. almost 2 hours later I was out to lunch with my husband at a local Sizzlers. I had been there many times over the years and know the place well. All of a sudden, I was disorientated and confused, wondering where the exit was. I became panicky shaky. My thoughts seemed to drift in and out like I was dreaming. I had to consciously try to bring them back and concentrate on being alert. After about an hour My mind seemed to be normal. I am very sensitive to any medications an was wondering if it could have been from the injection I had had earlier?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you have not mentioned the anesthetic used,I think it should be Lignocaine. It can cause confusion in some people. It can be the effect of the anesthesia. It mostly last for a short period of time in most people. If you feel it again.

Hope I have answered your query.
