What Causes Sudden Burning Sensation And Redness On The Face And Hands?
Q. About 2 weeks ago I was driving in the car and my face suddenly started with a burning sensation which lasted for about an hour. After this my skin turned red, especially around corners of my eyes, cheeks, chin. After the redness and burning sensation stopped, by the next day my face started flaking. This has now happened several times since the first time. It starts to clear up and then happens again. I am now having symptoms on the backs of my hands at the base of my thumbs. Do you have any ideas as to what is happening please?
Please follow the below treatment plan: 1. Start using mild cleanser like Cetaphil for face wash. 2. Try gentle moisturizer like Avene, twice daily after face wash. 3. Apply Hydrocortisone cream once daily bed time on the affected areas after moisturizing the skin. 4. Discontinue Hydrocortisone cream once problem settles down.
