A few days ago, I had my reading glasses on and strolling through a store. Spotted something I wanted to look at and all of a sudden I got this real strange feeling like both of my eyes were going in different direction and everything was blurry and I was a little dizzy. This happened a few times many years ago it appears to be intermittent. It took a while for my eyes to back to normal. what could this be?
Hello there, Thank you for your question. It would have helped to know your age. What you experienced seems to be an episode of squinting of eyes which could be due to sudden muscle weakness in the eye. This has many reasons: 1) Local muscular weakness in the eye like myasthenia gravis 2) Nerve weakness due to decreased blood supply to the brain 3) Simple dry eyes can also produce these symptoms. 4) Sudden change in pressure in the eye All of these are treatable but you need to be examined by an ophthalmologist who can conduct some tests and if needed a brain MRI or CT and detect the exact cause. Please do no ignore this symptom as sometimes it may be a transient ischemic attack where in there is reduced blood supply to the brain causing this symptom which is a warning sign for an impending stroke. So do not worry rather meet an ophthalmologist who can guide you after the reports. Hope this helps. Take care.
