I just experienced having a sudden surge of bloating, before i ate. I was preparing my meal and was not eating while I prepared it and I noticed a sudden surge of bloating in my stomach. Surprised me and then when I ate it continued and after I finished as well. It didn't necessarily get worse it just didn't go away. Thanks, i do have a fibroid in my cervical canal. Did the fibroid like take a leap in growth all of sudden?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Sudden gaseous distension can be due to intestinal infection, intestinal obstruction or volvulus. Other causes can be anxiety causing aerophagia. This can be diagnosed by X-ray of the abdomen in standing position. Tests of stool and blood. Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon preferably. Once the diagnosis is made, the treatment can be guided. Fibroid in the cervical canal certainly can not cause bloating. You may need a course of an antibiotic if infection is present. Eat slow. Avoid foods and beverages that increase the problem. Take probiotics and activated charcoal tablets. If the problem is not relieved then the best way is to have further tests like CT scan and so on.
