What Causes Stuffy Puss Filled Ear?

I have had a hole in my right ear it isnt big and has been there forever it is on the upper ear. I am now 27 and just the orhter day i felt pain in my ear and i kept smelling something horrible i couldnt figure it out. I though i was getting an ear infection ( i don't get those often). So i went to clean my ears and puss and stuff came out like a pimple and it smelled horrible. What is this from and should i be concerned??

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain history of having hole in the ear and ow having pain in ear and also having a bad smelling pus discharge from the ear seems to be most probably due to infection in the ear leading to formation of pus..

As you have a perforated eardrum such a severe infection can further worsen and there can even be loss of hearing..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like otoscopy, x ray etc can help in diagnosis..

He can be advised antibiotic and analgesic ear drops along with oral antibiotics and painkillers and at times manual drainage of ears along with placement of pressure equalization tubes and correction of the perforated eardrum by tympanoplasty procedure can help..
