What Causes Strong Throbbing Pulse In The Left Side Of Neck?
I am a very active 59 yr old woman. Very healthy. I do not like going to doctors. I have a very strong throbbing pulse in the left side of my neck. This occurs during exercise and rest. This has been occurring for about 2 months. I also have a mild,but annoying, ear ache in the left ear. I am training for a Grand Canyon hike soon. Is this throbbing pulse something I should have checked out?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is just throbbing sensation due to pulse then it may be nonspecific and because of your consciousness it disturbs you else this is nothing to worry, just to clear the doubt it can be tested with Doppler study with ECHO, for the ear pain rule out the wax impaction hope this information helps.
