What Causes Stomach Pain And Fever After Eating Spicy Food?

My husband ate spicy noodles night at dinner and had stomach pain afterwards but no diarrhea. He still has the pain above diaphragm area and low temp (99.5) now. Can he take Cipro, Z-Pak, Levofloxin or Clindamycin in case he has an infection in his stomach? Thanks

Hi... Thanks for asking Health care magic..
From the history you have given your husband got mild food poisoning with Gastritis..
This situation doesnt need any antibiotic.. so you need not take cipro, levoflox,zpak or clinda..
He needs to take care of gastritis by some milk of magnesia syrups [antacid syrup like gelusil ] and diciclomine tablets for immediate relief and proton pump inhibitors[pantop tablets] on empty stomach in morning for 4 or 5 days for complete cure..
For food poisoning you need not take any specific medication, if he will have any diarrhea or vomiting he can have plenty of fluids with oral rehydration solution[ORS] to take care of water loss..
