What Causes Stomach Discomfort While On Glipizide And Lantus Solostar For Diabetes 2?

Dr Rynne I am 77 years old and for the last few years I have been treated for diabetis 2. I am on glipizide and 32 units of lantus solostar. My problem is my stomach, I cannot walk very long and or seat down at the table that I have to go to the bathroom. what can I do or what is happening. I have mentioned it to my primary doctor but he just took me off from metformin?

Hi,

Glipizide can cause such urgency in passing motion. This could indicate a complication of diabetes, (acidosis) which needs to be detected or excluded, followed by specific management as per need. Please consult your diabetologist.
