What Causes Stomach Ache In A Toddler While Having Food?
Hi doctor, I have a 3 year old. He has been complaining of stomach ache for past few months, points to his naval every time. This happens mostly when he starts eating. His eating has been reducing in quantity. He eats very less and has lost his appetite. He vomits very easily. We have never dewormed him. What do you suggest? We are in Boston, MA, USA.
Abdominal pain in toddlers is not uncommon and mostly due to peristaltic movements. But you have mentioned that you have never dewormed him so even that could be a cause for his abdomen pain.
It is important to deform children at regular intervals as they are very prone to worm infestation. Syrup Albendazole is very effective for deworming but you should discuss it with your paediatrician first.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman,
