What Causes Stomach Ache After Taking Taxim-O And Cefixime?
Namaskar Sir, My Son is one year and two months old, he is suffering from high fever (103.2 to 102.4 celcius in arm pit). Doctor said it is viral fever and prescribed TAXIM-O syrup ( Cefixime oral suspension IP, 15g/30 ml) 5 ml morning and 5 ml evening (12 hrs duration). Two bottles has been prescribed i.e one bottle will last for 3 days. After completing two days fever got normal, but we are feeling that he is getting stomachache, as he is crying incessaintely,,,,,,,, can we discontinue to give the dose for next three days. Unable to contact doctor as ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Some antibiotics in some cases can cause gastrointestinal upset leading to symptoms like loose motions and abdominal discomfort. I would suggest that you can discuss with your doctor to give some probiotic along with the antibiotic to prevent abdominal discomfort.
