What Causes Stomach Ache After Colonoscopy?

I had a colonoscopy on Monday Dec 5th. I have had stomach pain on my left side ever since with
excessive gas. I am concerned that something isn't in place properly. I have had bowl movements
(small ones) . I seem to feel some better after I pass gas and burp several times. The pain is still there but not as bad after the gas passes. Whats wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi and pleased to answer you
The overall frequency of complications reported by patients following colonoscopy is 15.7%. The most common complication noted by patients is abdominal pain (5.4%) followed by digestive bleeding (2.1%). Other complications are reported:
- Complications of sedation and cardiovascular events (intestinal ischemia or myocardial necrosis).
- Complications directly related to the endoscopic gesture most often reported are perforation and hemorrhage.
In your case of abdominal pain, you can use BUSCOPAN TABLETS 10MG - 1 tablet 3 times daily at each meal during 2 days.
If pain do not disappear, you need to consult your gastroenterologist.
best wishes
