In my clinic, for patients with such complaints, I advise stool routine and culture & sensitivity, CBC, serum electrolytes.
HYDRATION is MOST IMPORTANT in such situation.
If she is accepting orally, W.H.O. Oral Rehydration Solution (
ORS) prepared in boiled & cooled water, 1 litre should be given over 24 hours along with other liquids & oral antibiotic syrup.
If she isn't accepting orally, I advise my patients to get admitted & then I start with I.V. fluids, I.V. antibiotics empirically, changed as per culture-sensitivity report if necessary.
Pre-pro biotics are also given.
Search for source of infection should be done.
This can also be a viral infection.
Consult with your doctor.
