What Causes Stabbing Pain Below The Rib Cage?

Yes, My husband is 48 years old and takes lisinopril 20mg, and amlodipine 5mg. we have only been married for 2 years, so we still have a very active sex life. a couple of weeks ago, he started having stabbing pains below his ribs and to the left of his sternum, during sex, Once the pains started he is now having problems having an orgasm, no problem getting aroused the other just dont happen. He went to his doctor, and they put him on pantoprazole sod 40mg, for reflux a couple of days ago. do you think it will help with this problem or do you think that he s just afraid that the pain is gonna come back during sex We thought he was having a heart attack but he was in a great deal of pain. sorry to be so blunt, but he dont go back to the doctor for 3 weeks,

Here doctor have given him antacid tablets. And the explanation by you looks like it was a pain due to acidity the acid gas can travel up in digestive system and disturb the heart by putting pressure on it. and it starts paining.
For a precaution you also keep check on his blood pressure daily morning. And look his physics, is he a person who gets tired very Fast? And also one most important thing while having the pain, was he having difficulty in breathing? If yes then you need to check with ecg and Tredmile test. Just to confirm there is nothing wrong with heart.
