What Causes Spotting?

So today I went to the bathroom and one blood clot had came out. I don t wanna assume it s my period but I don t know exactly. This happened to me a few months back where when I wiped, there was a mucus type discharge with blood but again it happened like two or three months back but I m not sure what it all means.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Passing of blood clots and intermittent spotting could be due to some associated disorder inside uterus or its lining called endometrium.
To know what could be the cause, you need to undergo ultrasound scan of abdomen and clinical examination by consulting Gynecologist. According to the cause, it needs to be treated.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
